Baby wrap -wrapped up

I finally have my baby kimono ready.
Today I finished embroidering the tiny pink roses and the green leaves. I didn't want to be quite plain so I think this small detail came in just nice. The little baby princess has an older sister and I want to send something for her too and I am considering a knitted scarf or a headband.

For the baby wrap/kimono I used this Lion Brand pattern, and I recommend you visit the site. They have some amazing patterns for all ages and most of them are for free.

Back to Lion Brand. I am currently obsessed by this.

Isn't this gorgeous? And it is also for free.
Would love to make this for myself. Maybe if I start now, I'll finish it in a year or two. What do you say?
That's why I like sewing more. You draft the pattern, cut the pieces, sew them together and you have a piece of clothing in a jiffy. With knitting it is a totally different issue. You have to work laboriously and for a long time (and curse a bit when you realize after a bazillion rows that you've made a mistake) to actually make something presentable.

  3. oh, i love the sweater! i just might try it myself, although i'm not very good with knitting and after my last attempt to do something which i couldn't get going properly, i'm feeling a little put off by knitting. i also love the grown-up sweater. i'd love to see what you do with it! :) lisa

  5. Fantastic your baby kimono. I love the color that you chose! I love knitting too. When my daughter was a little baby I knitted a lot of sweaters for her. It was fun!

  7. Please, tell me I didn't just read what you said about knitting as I am just beginning - and trying to convince myself it is soooo long and slow before I get to sse the result ;-)

  8. Oh Nat, but it's the truth. It does take so long until you get to the end. Especially with the work load I get stuck every day.
Although no sewing can be compared with a quiet winter night in the coziness of my armchair and the presence of my little family, with a knitting project on the needles!

  9. I agree! I like sewing so much more then knitting! I tried, but I can never finish, it takes way too long, then you look at the piece and think, why did I want this?
Thanks for stopping by Sand to Pearl
and your necklaces are adorable. I really need to make myself some again, but every time I wear them Little Man tries to rip them off.
