One of the most appreciated professions in the ancient times was bakery. The ancient Romans called their bread panis and they made it into several shapes: trigons - panis trifi dus, tetragons panis quadratus, pentagons, hexagons and octagons.
For their everyday use they mostly used a large round bread usually baked in ashes. One of the most beautiful bread types was in the shape of a wreath and it had several variants. On the SCUPINI ROMANI festival, the visitors will be able to try the bread called libum, bread made only with flour and goat cheese. And some vegetable pâté for which the recipe will be shared later next week.
