Spring cleaning I came upon UFOs. Grannies in rainbow colors. The thing is that I have designed a granny square that still hasn't seen the light of day for maybe a year now. Why? Because I wanted to make a baby blanket with it, but with all the things I want to do and try my hand at, I simply don't have time for it. So sad. But I am sure you all have piles of unfinished projects (?), so that's my comforting thought for now; knowing that I am not alone in this :)
Granny squares being my oldest and deepest love hold a special place in my creative world and today I am sharing a roundup of adorable granny / mandala squares I have found and would very much like to try. Mandalas are quite a crazy in the crochet community - have you noticed? Now you have some free to enjoy and make yourselves!
The 3D flowers in the center make them really eye catching much like the stucco work of the real mandalas in temples
ReplyDeleteThey are all very pretty and colourful, but I prefer simple traditional granny squares since I'm not a fan of 3D crochet. They do make stunning cushions though!
ReplyDeleteYou'll probably know that I love mandalas too. I haven't made such marvellous ones as these though. They're always fun to make and one can make them with real bright and vivid colours.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Marjan
I would very much love to have time and actaully make a mandala blanket, but that's highly likely. At least in the near future.
DeleteI always get a little happy thrill when I see my babies somewhere else! :D Thank you so much, Maya! xox
ReplyDeleteSo glad about Jen! I am crazy about your squares and has been a pleasure having them displayed on my blog too! Thank you for creating such cuteness and sharing them with us!
DeleteI LOVE granny square blankets. Those Mandalas are exquisite. They look terribly complicated. I love all the crazy details in each square.
ReplyDeleteThey do look complicated and require lot of work, but all effort is worth. I live them.
DeleteI adore the patterns you shared Maya. I can't even begin to chose which one I'd want someone to make for me first, but I really need to find that someone because I want all of them. They are all gorgeous
