"Bohemian Dreams" Collection

Good morning and Happy Monday!

I am so happy to present to you my newest jewelry and accessories collection I titled "Bohemian Dreams".

As the name implies, it carries a strong note of the adventurous, carefree spirit, showing an eclectic mix of different materials, colors and textures that capture the nomadic aesthetic and present an authentic tribal flair.

While making it I evoked memories from our past travels to maze-like medinas, intricate mysterious souks, invigorating colorful fabrics and rugs, enchantingly astonishing and exotic patterns of jewelry and costumes.

More of the collection here.
A small part of it (cuffs and earrings), will be added in the course of next week. Thank you for visiting!

Crochet Boho Bags

These are my new crocheted boho bags that are part of my bohemian summer collection I've been boring you to death with, mentioning it here and there. Since we are done with the photo shoot, I am already working on the pictures and readying the collection for its reveal next week.

So. Back to the bags. There are 5 of these bags, each in different color palette, but sadly, only these 2 got into the photo shoot. I used 100% mercerized cotton yarn from a local producer. I combined sport and DK yarn to get a playful and textured look which together with the variegating pattern creates an attractive piece.

That's all for now. Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead. We are traveling home tomorrow, so I am signing off.
Talk to you on Monday. Bye!

Summer Trend: What's Your Tropical Motif?

Via Dolce & Gabbana

The tropics with their balmy weather, lush vegetation and explosion of colors have been influencing the modern design world for quite some time now. The colorful and eye-catching tropical motifs include palm leaves and exotic flowers, flamingoes and toucans, pineapples and watermelons, just to name a few.

From modern furniture to accessories they add a sublime and highly attractive feel and tend to bring fresh tropical air and pop of color to our concrete jungles. At least for while.

I wrote last week about the flamingo influencing the crochet world, but one can note that the same has been going on for the pineapple and cacti.

What's your favourite tropical motif? Or maybe you didn't succumb to their charm ? :)

Vanessa Montoro - Handmade Silk Crochet

When I first encountered one of Brazilian crochet designer Vanessa Montoro's dresses I was earnestly in awe at the beauty of it. One might say it was love at first sight.
Her creations are most recognized and high demanded for several reasons. The most common one being that her creations are handmade from beginning to end, with hand spun and hand died silk which adds a special quality to her original and timeless creations.

The brand uses the purest and smoothest silk.
Dyeing is completely handmade, with natural pigments such as yerba mate, annatto, spinach, onion skin, coffee powder, eucalyptus and blackberry leaves, which ensure a singular tone the pieces and make it an unparalleled product. See their interesting how it's made
 dyeing.

In their introduction to the public they emphasize the following:
"To make the production of such quality pieces possible, Vanessa Montoro doesn’t work with mass-production nor uses any industrial method. Each piece has its own particularity, charm and sophistication. They are luxurious pieces, yet versatile, timeless and do not follow any fashion trend.

Among the products created, there are blouses, coats, dresses, pelerines and whatever else might come to Vanessa Montoro’s mind, where the process begins. Once the template piece is developed and approved, very few units of the same model will be made, and still with color and some detail changes.

Vanessa Montoro pieces concept come from the marriage between knitting and crochet to manual spinning and dyeing with natural pigments show. She brought this kind of art from history roots, right into the middle of 21st century, among paraphernalia of industrialization and information technology. The process is raw and beautiful, qualities that make a difference and stand out at current environment."

I am sure you are as enchanted with her creations as I am. If I could, I'd pick one in every single color they have to wear for the rest of my life.  Enjoy more of Vanessa Montoro here.

What I have Pinned Lately #3

Welcome to another love sharing Sunday!

I have been pretty busy pinning here and loving there, and the amount of gorgeous project I've come across on both pinterest and bloglovin' is overwhelming to say the least.

On pinterest I pinned this lovely, colorful and charming gypsy top (above) and this amazing mystical lanterns shawl (below) that are just to sweet for words.

And I also liked this sunglasses case which I am itching to make but for Eva's phone, because it has been caseless for quite a while and I am afraid scratches are just lurking around the corner.

Bloglovin' has been most inspirational too. I fell in love with the Mosaic Blanket the minute I saw it. It is an extraordinary one.

On the topic of blankets I also loved this stripey one which appears to be  a no brainer in regard to its pattern and these attractive slip stitch dishtowels.

Please note that you can find all the respective links for these patterns on my pinterest and bloglovin' accounts. What is most exciting is that they are all free!

Thank you for following.

DIY Lace Boho Cuff

I am terribly late with my posts this week but you'll just have to bear with me! There is too much to see in Corfu and so little time left when we actually get back at night, so right now I am juggling with my posts:)

This is a sweet weekend project for a lace boho cuff I've prepared that can be finished in no time - I just love these kinds of projects where you can whip something in a matter of minutes and head out of the door wearing it.

So what you need is:
1. A wide piece of lace (length: to fit your wrist)
2. Decorative coins and beads
3. 2 clasps
4. A metal chain and jump rings
5. Sewing needle and thread (sewing machine)

Cut a piece of lace that would be as long to go around your wrist but not cover it completely. Mind to add a little seam allowance because we are going to sew the edges.  For this project I repurposed lace from one of the blouses I had lying around, so an oldie can be a goldie.

Fold the ends, pin and sew to secure. Lace can fray like crazy sometimes. I used my sewing machine for this because the lace has a lot of hollows and it was easier than doing it by hand.

After sewing the edges, add the clasps. I noticed afterwards that they mine are not properly lined up. Mind that please.

Add jump rings on the respective sides and attach the chain.

My lace with its circle-designed edges is just perfect to add coins between them.

And because I went with the black and metallic (silver) look, I chose round metal beads to add to the middle of the lace and fill those spaces up.

And it is done! I am very satisfied how it turned out and even more at how it looks when styled.

This is the blouse I used it from - this particular piece was taken from the sleeve.
