Crochet Ramblings - Granny rectangles

This is a project that didn't live to grow up. I made these granny rectangles with the idea to expand them to the size of an Easter table runner (and maybe placemats as well), but adding these chicks and eggs  around it somehow didn't click well with me, so I dropped the idea altogether.

They are dormant at the moment (or my brain is, to be more exact), but I am willing to dream up something else with them, because they are just too cute to be left like this. I hope you had a lovely Easter and many successful projects!

  1. The little ones sure are cute and nice colors. I had started a bigger one sometime back but was kinda coming out wonky so haven't added anymore to it. Need to find it and see what I can do with it. Hope you have a good rest of the week. Take care.

    1. Thank you, Tammy! I haven't gone past row 5. Hopefully when I get there, it won't wonky up on me (fingers crossed).

  2. I've made all kinds of granny squares since I learned how to crochet in like the 6th or 7th grade. But I've never made a rectangle granny square. They are so pretty! Now I need to make another afghan! lol

    1. Hahaa. Me too Linda! But as I am tackling the granny (stripe) pattern these past 2 months, I thought it is a must to include the rectangle. I am going for the granny circle next ;)

  3. They would look great as a scarf. You could make small ones in different colors and attach them all together.

  4. You know, Maya, I have never thought of Granny rectangles, only Granny squares. I think these little rectangles are cool. Wouldn't they look fabulous made up as a blanket or anything, really.

  6. I've never thought of granny rectangles, how clever. I'm trying to think of something wonderful they would make.
