I Quit My Job!!!

After years of wishing, yearning and dreaming of it, I finally quit my job!

I've been in education for more than 24 years and saying goodbye to my colleagues and students was a bittersweet moment for me. So many precious memories to keep and cherish, but I believe there are tons more to create in my new chapter!

I cannot wait to boldly plunge into new, exciting adventures and do what I love the most - dedicate fully to my small crochet business!

⭐❤️Never stop chasing your dreams - they do come true!❤️⭐

  6. Teaching, though fulfilling, is a demanding and hard job. Plus, 24 years of service deserves much appreciation. I wish you good luck to help you thrive doing what you love, Maya.

  7. Congratulations! I feel for you. I taught 30 years and always loved it so much that I thought I would never want to retire. However, the demands of the last 3 years from administration and parents unfortunately outweighed the love for kids and the rewards of their learning. I know it worse here 10 years later. I now get to quilt, sew and volunteer in a private religious school and a Home School coop to share sewing/quilting skills. Good luck.

    1. Thank you so much, Joy! I miss my students and my classroom. It was a place where magic happened. I miss being able to witness those young, beautiful souls flourish and bloom. I don't miss the terrible and inefficient reforms, the ridiculous avalanche of administration work imposed on the teachers and so on and so forth. What saddens me the most is when at the school's farewell party all my colleagues were unanimous in telling me that I saved myself...
