I don't know about you, but this whole week slipped away unnoticeably and smoothly and somehow I lost the thread of it all.
My full time job is keeping me on my toes, tearing me away from my beloved hook, laughing out at my long term plans, tripping me every few steps. Hence progress in my creative world is slow but I am thankful for every single minute I can spare and create.
I started with the idea of a collection that would be entirely inspired by the Victorian era - you might remember my Victoriana brooches I made back in 2016. I am still hooked up on the idea for the collection and several pieces are already in progress, but this one got finished first and it was the easiest piece I have ever tackled.
It literally got finished in 15 minutes because I used flowers that had already been made and to top it I also added a pin given to me by a dear colleague which wasn't worn much but now I will flaunt it happily.
After I took the photos I realized it could bear more bling so I am all set to adding some more of my pastel pearl beads. My motto of late has been if you think less is more, think twice. Because it has proven that the more I add the better it gets. So less is never more when it comes to my creations and that is it. Before I ramble some more, I wave you goodbye, but please come tomorrow - I have some girl brooches to show you.

Gorgeous! You've inspired me, you know, I'm making a mixed media flower-thing myself at the moment. It's not yet finished and it was meant to be an embellishment for my handbag that is rather boring. Hope to get it as marvelous as your creations!
I am usually a supporter of 'less is more' until it comes to your creations. What a gorgeous necklace! The silver pin matches the chain while making a delicate contrast with the peach hues and makes it look very nice all together. :-)
Minimalism has its perks but it is overrated. Have you heard of Iris Apfel's "More is more" philosophy? You might enjoy looking into it. Your necklace reminds me of an image of ballet dancer (in her tutu) setting with a pile of spring flowers at her feet

I know Iris but risking to be misunderstood, I will say that her more is too much. I hope my creations are not starting to look like made according to her image, with all due respect.

Thank you Kim! I believe that a little piece of lace gives a completely different feel to everything. The base was actually a piece I saved from a tablecloth.

Maya, these are lovely (I looked at the others too), and can't wait to see what you'll come up with next. I love the Victorian look in so many ways, especially in the lace and rhinestones, and the whole girly girl look. I've always loved shabby chic. You're doing it right here!
I love all things Victorian and this looks soooo pretty! (I'm actually watching a move at the moment set in the Victorian era, so this has got me doubly inspired). You are one creative and talented woman!
