Eva's new bikinis
These are Eva's bikinis. She's at the age when she is not a small girl anymore but still hasn't entered girlhood yet so it was hard finding a suitable swim suit for her.
She grew so much this year all swim gear she had is too small for her. We decided to make one.
I used her old bikini to make it. On the bottoms I added a ruffle at the front and adorned it with crocheted flowers. She wanted an array of all-sizes of Irish roses, but knowing how hard those dry I wasn't going to be persuaded.
I made this top for the "threw yourself in the sea to catch that ball" and other water jumping activities that may leave you embarrassed when you realize your top is missing! Those triangles can get a bit tricky!!
In a couple of days we'll be heading on the long-waited-for vacation. Preparations are under way and I am trying to keep the lists short although at times it seems difficult because we'll be away for three weeks and with children one has to be prepared for everything.
I am preparing crocheting tutes before I leave so come back to check them out!

I love the idea of having two different tops match a bottom piece! Adorable!
Beautiful with crochet
What a great swimsuit! I am a firm believer in two pieces for my girls (mad rushes to the bathroom!). I wish you a safe and memorable vacation. I agree it is so difficult to pack to cover all situations.
First of all - the color is lovely and the contrasts are just the right thing! it's all in the details isn't it?:D One lucky young girl definitely!:)
Way too cute Maya! Love the turquoise, one of my favourite summer colours! And those lovely crochet flowers are such a sweet embellishment! Have a lovely Sunday!
so very cute Maya! love the colors and the simple crochet accents. thanks so much for sharing on Craft Schooling Sunday!
WOW! I never thought in making a biquini!!! But it's a great idea! My daughter has one swimsuit that someone give to her and as I don't think is pratical she doesn't use it! I must think in a refashion!!
I love the 2 tops details and the litle flowers!
Every time we go away, I drive my husband nuts with the amount of stuff that I want to take...but we never know what we'll need, do we???
