Autumnal Rhapsody - Beads & Flower Crochet Necklace

Guys, meet my newest necklace! I named it Autumnal Rhapsody and I believe this is the perfect name for it because it truly depicts the lavish attire autumn flaunts with.

I used simple things like crocheted beads and rings to make it, but the colors make it extravagant and special. The super-soft yarn which I have extensively been using it lately is Nako's Vals.

If you want to make something similar, you can use my ancient, but practical tutorials for crocheting  beads and rings.

New Pattern: Romantic Bohemian Brooch

This is one of my best selling brooches. By far.

I made the first one back in 2012 and it has brought lots of joys to bohemian souls and beautified many coats and hats. I stopped taking orders for this one long time ago, but still receive messages from people asking about the pattern, and I thought it must be funny not to have the pattern for the most demanded brooch, so -  the pattern is finally here.

A wonderful gift to make for your loved ones for the upcoming holidays or treat yourself to a slice of bohemian extravagance.

The pattern is on Etsy & Ravelry.

Fresh Off the Hook: Tube Bracelets

Hello there!
It's been pretty busy in our household and quite hectic if I may add, and when life butts in, unwillingly some things prioritize so that other things are put on hold. That has happened to my tube crochet kits (I apologize to the chosen kit testers for taking so long) and many other projects which I hope to return to very soon.

Which leads me to today's post. This thing you see is a tube bracelet I have been working on and the pattern for this one  will accompany the tube necklace pattern. I am still working on it- meaning this is not the finished version. There is something about it that does not turn out as I see it in my head, so I still have to work some ideas out.

But there is a brooch pattern ready for this Friday, so I'd love if you could pop by then for the reveal. See you on Friday!

Insta Feel -mscraftberrybush

Lucy Akins has a dreamy, incredibly inspiring, eye-candy of an instagram account I love to check over and over again. Her recent posts are all into the spirit of Christmas and the seducing images do elevate my spirits up and tickle my soul as my eyes feed on the gorgeous setting.

What I also love is that she shares most of the DIY décor / interior design ideas  she creates for her pictures so  you'd not want to miss her gem of a blog.

White & Grey Chunky Scarflette

Hello guys! I present my newest scarflette. Actually, it's not that new. I think I made it last year, but as it happens with a lot of my work, it doesn't get to see the light of day immediately. This one is going to join my bohemian collection of scarves and there will be several other forgotten ones join the pile.

The scarflette is made out of chunky yarn and edged with boucle yarn. It is irregular in shape - a little bit funnel resembling. It closes with a big pearly button and the holes in the pattern allow different buttoning options that add up to the varying looks it can have.

Well, that would be all for today! Have a lovely weekend. Signing off...

How to read Crochet Charts: Free Mandala Pattern

Welcome to another chart reading. This time I thought a break from my crochet routine in the shape of a mandala would be nice. Needed something quick and relaxing and again tried to use color combinations I never take into consideration. Challenging myself feels great :)

The chart I found on pinterest:

The pattern:

With yarn size and relevant hook by choice
Ch 10 and join to make ring.
Round 1: Ch3 (counts as the 1st dc) and make 23 dc in the ring. Sl st with initial chain to end.
Round 2: ch3 (counts as the 1st dc) +3, sk 1, dc in the next st. Ch 3, sk1, Dc in next st.Work this pattern around. There should be 12 dc (including the initial 3-ch). Sl st with initial chain to end.
Round 3: ch3 + 1. dc4 in the first ch-space of rnd 2. Ch 1 and dc4 in the next space. Repeat this pattern to the end of the round. In the end space dc only 3 because the initial 3-ch counts as a dc. Sl st with initial chain to end.
Round 4: (slight variation) ch 5, sc in the st between the dc sets of the round below. Repeat this pattern around. Sl st to end round.
Round 5: ch1 and in the 1st ch-space - dc3ch1, dc3, ch1 and sc over the sc st of the round below. ch1 and repeat the pattern in bold. Sl st to end it.
Round 6: ch2 and in the 1st ch-space - dc3ch1, dc3, ch1 and sc over the sc st of the round below. ch2 and repeat the pattern in bold. Sl st to end it.

I hope you like this!

Insta Love - zamhandmade

One of my recent instagram finds include zamhandmade. An account ran by Camilla, a talented girl who makes incredible knits entirely by hand, knits that "speak the language of nature, a language that has now been lost".

I love the way she combines colors and mixes patterns to achieve captivating textures, something I am quite obsessed with lately.

Each of her posts is a true eye-candy so I  invite you to drop her a visit.

Crochet Rose Pendant- new pattern

There is a new pattern in my shops for a sweet rose pendant necklace. The rose is the eye-catching focal point of the pendant having two other flowers and leaves accentuate its attractiveness and charm.

Quite small but head turning.

DIY Bead & Ribbon Romantic Necklace

With the holidays peeking on the horizon this insanely easy DIY is certainly going to be handy if you want to whip up presents for your dearest or treat yourself with a beautiful necklace.

Roll up your sleeves and gather these supplies:

This photo does not show the exact number of things you will need, because you are going to make a custom necklace, but I will give the numbers for the... let's call this - tutorial necklace.

For the tutorial necklace I used:

* 37 (9mm) beads
* 74 filigree bead caps
* 4 (10mm) rings
* 1 (3 mm) ring
* 1 big filigree cap
* 37 eye pins (I didn't have such so used ordinary head pins instead)
* 1 lobster clasp
* 1 ribbon end crimp
* velvet ribbon (23 cm in length)

(nose pliers + cutter)

Making the beads / beading it up

Take the cutter and cut the head pin take the nose pliers and make an eye (a)- if you have eye pins, skip this step. Insert the cap (b), the bead (c), the other cap (d), and make the other eye (e). When you make the next bead, insert the first one onto the pin before making the second eye (see second picture).

Bead on until you reach desired length. For the tutorial necklace I made two strands. The first was smaller - I used 17 beads while the second had 20. Attach both onto the big rings. Those are for the closure.

Joining

The ribbon is 23 cm long. Double it and pass it through a single ring you've attached the strands of beads on the bottom part.

      Finishing up

On the other side of the ribbon attach the ribbon crimp. Because I didn't want the ribbon exposed / showing at the end, I added a decorative cap over it.
Attach the small ring with lobster clasp on it and you are done!

It is as easy as it sounds, isn't it? Have fun making this!

8 Free Plaid Crochet Projects

I don't know if you've noticed but plaid patterns are becoming more and more popular, and though not much of a plaid person, I must admit all these projects look fantastic. I gathered a collection I want saved in my archives for future reference.

Are you a plaid person? What projects would you make? For me that would be a plaid scarf and definitely a blanket.
