After these round mini doilies, I thought it would be nice if some squares showed up, and here they are :)
To make these you need some leftover yarn and adequate hook. I used sport yarn and 1.9mm (B1-E4) hook.
Pattern:
Chain 4 and join to make ring
Row 1: sc 8 in ring.
Row 2: sc1, sc2 in the same stitch; repeat this pattern 3 more times (12)
Row 3: sc1 in first stitch, sc1 in the next, sc2 in the same (third) stitch; repeat this pattern 3 more times (16)
Row 4: sc1 in the first 3 stitches, then sc2 in the next stitch; repeat this pattern 3 more times (20)
Border: Insert thread, chain 3 and sc in the next stitch. Increase the pattern for one sc more than row 4 (sc1 in the first 4 stitches, then sc2 in the next stitch; repeat this pattern 3 more times)
You can make the squares in different sizes. The intro photo shows squares of different sizes. The best for earrings and necklaces (if you ask me) is to crochet the square up to (including) row 3. For bracelets I would suggest including 5 rows (see my bracelet below).
Hope you like them!

Love how you used these to make a bracelet!
You make it look so easy Maya, but then again you are the crochet specialist, aren't you! ;-) Your squares are really lovely! Needless to say I'm in love with your necklace, mwah!! Hugs, Ira x

They look so cute and easier to make than the crocheted granny squares. maybe they can be made into necklaces?
So sorry if this comment appears twice! This is such a great tutorial. I have a friend who is just learning to crochet so I will pass it along since it's so visual. And pretty! I think I'll try my hand at making a scarf out of these for the winter.
Hi Sylvie!
I am glad you like the tutorial and I would love to see your square scarf!
I made necklaces too, I just didn't include them in the post.
Lovely mini squares! Thanks for sharing!
