Thistle Necklace

You won't be seeing me shaking oya off for a while, so here we are again with an interesting oya necklace I made.
And earrings too. Ever since I made the thistle pattern I was itching for a necklace and as soon as Eva's prom was over, I let myself play with the crochet thread and came up with this design for the necklace.

The pattern is here, the earrings here.

Lovely! They remind me of carnations with that rich red colour. I have been watching a Turkish TV series lately and thinking of you often, as there were Oya lace all over the place whenever they wore traditional garments. :-)

Thank you! Now that you mention it, they do look like carnations. Hmmm.. maybe I need a name change...
Turkish TV soaps are also popular here. They do have fantastic examples of oya. Thinking that they make all thise intricate designs with a sewing needle is truly insane.

Your playing, Maya, has resulted in another gorgeous necklace and earrings. I too think your flowers remind me of carnations. Oya crochet is beautiful, isn't it.
