Flower Hair Comb Trial

Happy Saturday all!
Today I am showing you a flower-decorated comb that was supposed to accompany one of the summer dresses I have been making, but somehow the idea I had in my head didn't turn out as I was expecting. If you ask me to point a finger at what's off, I wouldn't know what to say. Maybe the flowers are too big, or maybe the thread going along the comb is the one that pokes me in the eyes. Maybe I should have added it just as far as the flowers go.
With this one, I was aiming at achieving the effect of Japanese Kanzashi hair ornaments, but I obviously have to ditch the comb and think of something else.

Anyways, how is your Saturday going?

Perhaps a little flower and a few leaves to cover the end of the comb?? Regardless of your disappointment with your Japanese Kanzashi hair ornament, I think it is beautiful.

Anything you make is always lovely even if it doesn't turn out quite as you had hoped. Could your remake the flowers here into a brooch and then put smaller flowers across the comb?

Such a pretty crochet hair comb, Maya! Your crochet pieces are always so elegant.

There is a Japanese vibe to the comb with the curls tumbling even though it may not be Kanzashi. Maybe the visuality is what is throwing you off as it doesnt fit with the traditional kanzashi.

I might add a little something to the revealing end, Kim. And will certainly make tinier flowers.
