7 Free Crochet Bikini Patterns

Although there is less than a week till summer officially starts, here's been scorching hot for a while. And I cannot stop thinking of blue seas, white sand and of course... bikinis!

I have always had a crush on crochet bikinis. I find them irresistible though knowing well they are immensely impractical. I don't know if you have ever worn one but they are only good for showing off. Once, when I was young and had the pre-mama body I crocheted a pair. Seeing how expensive they were at the shops, I decided to make one myself but had no idea how to make it, so I asked a neighbour to help me with my idea. It is quite simple, but I am proud because it was the first bikini I had ever done and it turned out great. I still have it and tried to find it and show it to you in this post, but it seems it is misplaced somewhere. I am determined to find it for a future post - because this is not going to be the last post on swimwear, so sit tight for the next episode.

Pineapple Motif Earrings - crochet pattern

Hello friends! Today I have to show you my newest earrings pattern.  

As inspiration to make these lovely earrings for the summer I used the amazing pineapple pattern. There are 2 variations of the pattern  and both are playful and have wonderful and attractive texture. 
 

There are many different uses for these lovely pineapples.

Aside from earrings, they can be used as pendants. I tried my hand at making a necklace with a couple of  the motifs and some metal beads. But they can also be used as applique to adorn t-shirts and dresses or glam up old bags.

Insta feel - Baby knits

I cannot tell you how much I enjoy browsing through instagram and feeding my eyes with wondrous baby knits. 

My grandma was popular among young mothers for her baby knits and there wasn't a relative or a close friend who didn't get something knitted - she made gorgeous blankets, rompers and capes.

I am crazy about baby knits and in the future I would like to focus on designing and making baby clothes - this has been a dream of mine for years now, but I haven't done anything about it. Except finding inspiration. And it is not scarce on instagram.

Crocheted Flower Lariats - Romantic Mori Collection

I finally managed to snap a couple of photos of my latest lariats which were part of the Mori Collection.

They are immensely cute and quite eye-catching. 

Eva has one in dim grey and she absolutely loves it.

Pom Pom Dust Decor

 

I have several unusual glass bottles and jars I use as vases or to store beads. 

When I worked on my pom pom projects here and here, I ended  up with lots of yarn remains from the poms I like to call pom pom dust. And I thought it would be nice if I fill the bottles with these as a more vibrant and happier decor. 

 And they do make a nice change!

 

 

Flower Headband - free crochet pattern

 

 

Happy June everyone!
It finally arrived and now we can all start working on wonderful summer activities!

So why not start with an easy and attractive project like this headband? I am sure we can all use one when it get scorching hot.

Get your hooks and choose your yarn and let's start.
For this headband I used sport yarn and 1,9 mm hook.

Pattern for the body: 

Ch 55
Row 1: Sc in the 9th st from hk. Next ch5, skip 4, sc1. Repeat this to the end of row.

Row 2: "ch5 and sc on the chain. Ch2 and make a 3dc puff st over the sc st of the previous row, ch2  and sc on the next chain". Repeat from " to " to just before the end of row. You end it by making a sc on the chain, ch2 and make a dc in the last st. 

Row 3: ch 2 and make a 3dc puff st in the center of the puff of the previous row, ch 5 and sl st in the same st, ch5 and make another puff in that same st. Sc on the next chain. Repeat this pattern across. End with a sc.

 Row 4: ch 3 and sc on the puff chain, ch 3 and sc in the middle between the 2 puffs, ch3 and sc on the other puff's chain and then ch3 and sc on the chain between 2 flowers. 

 Pattern for the ties:

When you finish the body, do not cut the yarn. Continue working the side by making 5 scs. 
After that make 2-3 hdc rows, decrease the 4th row by hdc2tog and then continue with hdc rows until you get the desired length. 

 Chain 8 (optional - depending on the size of your button), sl st on the other side ch1 and sc 8 in the loop. Cut yarn, tie a knot and weave ends.

Work the other side / tie and add button.
