Satellite necklace

Would you be shocked if I tell you that I am not doing anything crafty for Valentine? No, Sir! Though I love looking at other people's projects! And I have bookmarked several but somehow I just don't have the desire or the will to commence even one!

There is a reason for that -don't hate me :)
You'll soon be reading about it here.

However I still couldn't escape the most popular color nowadays and made this Satellite necklace. I love my satellites especially the color combination. Tranquility on fire, don't you agree?

Take care. I'll talk to you later.

Happy Day!
This is a cool necklace. I'm kind of new to your blog, though I have read back pretty far. If you mentioned it before, I apologize for asking, but is the center of you discs cork? This is such a cool creation! And how do you keep the disc on the side when you wear the necklace? Or do you even worry about it?

Hi Carol,
I don't mind questions so don't worry about that! The discs are cork and they are joined together (sewn together and joined by small rings to the chain) and when I wear them they do not flip but stand as you see them. I can also wear them center down, but I like this way better!

What an intriguing little post... You are keeping us guessing as to what is keeping you busy... That's okay... I'll be back!

Lovely satellite necklace, btw, Maya!

You know I was thinking about this colour combination today. It just seems so popular, doesn't it? This Sherbert Pips -turquois & cranberries seems to be popping up everywhere

as for Valentines, I am intrigued. I actually didn't celebrate it until I had kids!!!

Thank you ladies on the positive feedback! I am endlessly happy when I read your thoughts!!
As for my fingers Papgena - don't worry! My brother in law was on a trip abroad (in Poland!!)and has brought me a fabulous porcelain thimble (Yippee!!). Now I can conquer the little buggers with no problem!

I read this late enough to stop worrying about your fingers too... I always wondered how hard these were difficult to make. and as I have no patience for anything hand sewn or embroidered, you may guess how much I admire you!
this necklace is to die for... again!

This is so simple and charming; a very nice project idea. I have a question as well about the cork. Do you ever have a problem with the cork breaking when you stitch around it? I would be so worried about that!

Maya Kuzman said...

@Sus: Sometimes it breaks if the disc is too thin, so I take care to cut it a bit thicker.Sometimes, due to the nature of the cork the needle cracks it in the middle,so I have to take a new one!

Totally cool idea, good of you to use cork Maya! I also just read your post, or rather your sewing machine's. What a great letter, I was laughing out loud over here :-) Thanks for this brilliant post!! Have a great weekend, Ira
