Winter Wonderland Resolutions

Although I know that nothing will fundamentally change with the turn of the clock at midnight and the entry into a new year, I am still in love with the idea of a fresh start and the elevated feeling of hope it brings with itself. I like clinging to that invigorating  feeling and the set of emotions it comes with.

After a year of collective uncertainty and anxiety, I am looking forward to a period of calmness accompanied with beautifully channeled inspiration, a period where I will focus more of celebrating small victories, give myself grace, and fill my life with lots of magic that everyday things give.

When it comes to my creative work, at the beginning of a year,  I always have a rough draft of what my blog and designs will be at the start of the year. This winter I want it to make it a wonderland.

I've worked hard these couple of months towards achieving that and I can hint a lot of designs inspired by the outlander / highlander style with a dash of mori and a sprinkle of vintage.

What is your driving mode? Have you made any new year's resolutions?

Your New Year’s aspirations sound lovely. No resolutions for me, except to not lot my guard down in regard to Covid. I am cautiously optimistic though given the vaccines.

I don't make new year resolutions, just to see the beauty in the everyday, too. There are sprinkles of magic and miracles in the small moments of our day, isn't there. I must say though, I love the sound of your designs evoking a winter wonderland. I can't wait to see what magical delight you will imagine and create, Maya.

I can say that many of us do that too, Michelle, not letting the guard down, albeit it is a little bit difficult and disheartening seeing that covid doesn't slow down. But the pandemic has set a new mode of behaviour we are strictly adhering to,and it is commendable how quickly and easily we've adjusted to these new sets of behaviour. Personally, I miss the hugs and kisses. Yesterday, I visited my mom whom I haven't seen since June (she's just a couple of kilometers away from me), and we had our masks on the whole time. It broke my heart I couldn't hug her...

There certainly are, Kim. I believe the pandemic has thought us to be more appreciative and apprehensive of those small miracles everyday life serves us with. I choose to count those little blessings and hold them tightly close to my heart. Thank you for your kind and sweet comment! Thank you for being an inspiration and for showing us the magic of your daily life in your corner of the world! xoxo

I usually make New Year's resolutions about my crafts in order to set a goal and try my best (usually fail) to achieve it, but I didn't make any this year. I will just enjoy life and take it as it comes, and I am sure the resolutions will follow as the time goes by. :-)

Happy new year Maya. It sounds like you have an organized plan for your creations. I can't wait to see what you make this year. I usually try to set easy goals for myself and I don't make any new year resolutions.
