Book fair

This week is the Annual Book Fair. It is an event we obligatorily visit to check the new releases and of course to buy some in order to freshen up our library, because in our family we love books. Our tastes range in dependence of our interests and likes.

Of course when I come near something like this - it is unthinkable of passing by and not throwing a glance or two.

To be honest I leafed through it twice. Made a big mistake not buying it because I was convinced I'd find something more interesting. However my favourite book store sells it so I'll take it next time I am there.

In the end everyone got what everyone wanted.

As you can see our purchase is always a motley selection.

Oh I can get lost for hours in second hand book shops! :)

The first row (every title is in Cyrillic - unfortunately we didn't buy any English books now)consists of the Sarah Key series and next to those is the Narnia series by C.S.Lewis.

Sarah Kay is lovely and Lewis's Narnia are one of my favourites!
I'm reading "The great hunt" of robert jordan. Unfortunally his books are not all translate to portuguese and I am not sure if my english is good enough to read it in the original!!

love book fairs here too, and yes our purchases are always so odd - sometimes fleamarket booths and not book fairs. But we always have math, science fiction, classic literature, automechanics, gardening, kids books and sometimes a book in German or French if I find it interesting... get raised eyebrows all over the place but we are always happy! Love the illustrations in the childrens' books you pictured.

RheLynn: to be honest the name and the illustrations of Sarah Kay are used so that a compilation of letters is transformed into books. I collected the sticker album as a little girl and the beautiful illustrations marked a great deal of my childhood. Since then Sarah Kay has been my favorite children's illustrator. I still keep the album so now Eva can enjoy the pictures herself!
