Old Jeans to Beach Bag Refashion

In a month, we'll be heading on vacation so I started making things we'll need. If you remember I made this bag 2 years ago and it turned out be irreplaceable. Both Eva and I wear it and we can't imagine going to the beach without it.

So, having another old pair of jeans I knew I had to make another one, and this bag is absolutely.gorgeous.

I.Love.It.       I love it!

I had imagined it in happy colors with a touch of boho, so I used the fabric I bought when we were in Tunisia (you may recognize it from my Kawaii scarf).

While the ideas were still cooking, the minute I made my gerberas I knew I would use them to embellish the bag.

I added two different gerberas and some sequins. At first I thought of adding some more sequins at the belt but it looked like too much, so instead I added a green silk ribbon. It turned out to be the real thing as a divider of the flowers and the fabric behind it.

For closure I thought of adding a narrow piece of the fabric or a ribbon with a made buttonhole that will use the existing button to close the bag, but I like how lovely the bag looks with the peeking fabric, so I decided to leave it as is.

Now, the question remains, who is going to win wearing it?
You should have seen Eva's mouth gapped and wide-eyed expression when she saw it :)
It was the one and only true reward for my work.

Fabulous bag Maya! Brings back such happy memories when I used to cut up old jeans and turn them into a bag (not as lovely as yours, mind you! LOL!) Love the additional embellishments and pretty fabric, too.
