Freeform Crochet Inspiration

 Via

Freeform crochet has always been immensely attractive for me. It shows the amazing creative genius of the artist and the skills to turn those varied shapes and forms into tangible, awe-striking masterful constructions.

Once in a while, I like to delve into freeform crochet, but this summer, the desire to fully engage into it is hugely pronounced. I have already made several freeform necklaces, but I decided to bead them all and the beading is going slow. So, I have nothing to show you right now, but I am hopeful to have them ready by the end of the week.

How about you? Have you tried freeform crochet? What have you made?

I love irishlace (in first picture). Not this summer but maybe next winter I want to try to crochet it with my freeform point of view. And want to see your next project. Happy crocheting Maya!

Thank you Ruşyena :)
Irish crochet is stunning and I believe, time consuming to make a piece, whether it is a scarf or a blouse. Nevertheless, I would love to try it.

these capes look so sculptural and artistic. I had no idea that you could do this with crochet.

The flowered shawl in the first photo is gorgeous and amazing. It is making want to learn and play with freeform crochet! Thank you for sharing.

Love these examples - beautiful collection of freeform pieces. It would be helpful to readers and fair to the creators, if you could please include photo credits identifying the makers. Artists such as Prudence Mapstone should be acknowledged in a survey post such as this.

Pardon my saying so Fastnet, but all the images have their corresponding credits under the pictures and they are not unnoticeable...

Hello there crafty stranger from Argentina! Thank you for the lovely comment. Sadly this is not my work. If you are interested in the 1st picture (which I assume is the case), that piece is made by an artist called Asia Verten. Google her to see all of her magnificent designs.

I didn't either. I'm not sure I'm that creative or talented. It is truly stunning indeed.
